VAR camera, which is to be installed in the AFC Stadium of Haverfordwest County

A call to the VAR video assistant from Site Video referee and work on the Haverfordwest soccer field was approved by Pembrokeshire planners.

In the application for the Pembrokeshire County Council, the Wales Football Association applied for permission to install a VAR video operating room and the associated work in the Bridge Meadow Stadium, Bridge Meadow, Haverfordwest.

In a supportive explanation by Agent Wardell Armstrong it says: “The football association Wales has recognized the possibilities to strengthen, improve and build football and the image associated with the top football league from Wales.

“The introduction of the Cymru Premier Strategy 2024-2030 has detailed plans to improve the standard of club facilities, brands and the consciousness of the Cymru Premier League as well as the strengthening of the Cymru Premier product over a period of six years.

“The implementation of Var as part of this plan enables referees to appear to the highest degree and to support the quality decisions for players, fans and television audience.”

It is called Var “consists of a referee of a video assistant who is a qualified civil servant who looks at the video material of the game with access to several screens, angles and repetitions with the aim of supporting the civil servants in order to make the right decision,” added: “Var is used globally.

“Var Light is used from season 2025/2026 in the Cymru Prime Minister and all Cymru -Premier games are covered. Var Light works according to the same principles as Var -with a referee of the video assistant, but without a repeat operator.”

It continued: “Images of VAR camera installations are sent to a self-contained video operating area in which the VAR is located. The match referee will carry out all the recommended ratings in the field in a named referee evaluation area next to the field where a monitor is installed on the match days.

“A review of the infrastructure in the OGI Bridge Meadow Stadium has come to the conclusion that the video operating area cannot be provided in existing buildings and that new additional accommodations must be provided as such.”
