In March of this year, social media was brought to flames when top shop shared a cryptic series of articles on Instagram. Fans of the retailer – a strong high street until his closure in 2021 – were put into a real frenzy and wildly speculated about the return of the brand to the top of the British fashion.
Ultimately, the news turned out to be slightly anti-climatic as it turned out, the contributions to a “fan fat art installation and treasure hunt” commissioned, but Topshop clearly could not ignore the increased demand after returning. Just four months later, the British brand announced that it has reached its long-awaited return to London with its first runway show for seven years.
According to the WWD, the high-street retailer will present its autumn and women’s collection at a currently not mentioned location in London. In contrast to designers who show at the London Fashion Week schedule, Topshop is revolving for a publicly directed event with a celebration party after the show with special guests. It is an interesting step when you consider that Topshop was the first brand High Street, which was shown at LFW, and was still a regular feature on the schedule by the end of 2010.
In recent years, fans have expected Kaderatem when the top shop dripped his return to the industry. ASOS bought the 2021 brand and started not being stored on its website long after, but at the end of 2024 the online single trading giant sold its majority stake in Topshop to Heartland, a holding company that now has 75 percent of the British brand.
While ASOS still has 25 percent, the ex-Arcadia label has experienced a noticeable change in strategy, since Heartland took over the reins, including the return of its own website, which later matches the upcoming catwalk show this year.
Although there is still no news about whether a return to Bricks and Mortar is planned for the future of Topshop, there is a clear guideline for the brand’s return to the British High Street with another energy in 2025.
