Michael van Gerwen is ready to start “Michael 2.0” when he returns to darts after more than a month.
Van Gerwen is back in the Oche for the US Darts Masters in New York in his first tournament since the last round of the weekly Premier League nights in Sheffield on May 22nd.

The Dutchman, who will wear a new shirt at the Madison Square Garden Event, took the time to deal with Ms. Daphne’s divorce.
But he is ready to take action in an event that he previously won twice.
“This will be a new Michael 2.0,” he said. “I am very excited, everyone knows that I still had very difficult times, still underway, but I have it to do with it and live from the moment.
“I still love what I do. I play darts. We all have to understand one thing, there is only one thing that I love more and these are my children.
“I would not be here if I were not here to win, I want to come here and put my head on something else, that’s really important.

“I also have to be realistic, I’ve never been to this situation, never had so many weeks when I didn’t play competitive arrows. My head says something else, my head says I have to smash it.”

Van Gerwen will be in a strong field, which also includes Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price.
Humphries still has to win this event, but wants to desperately add it to his collection.
“It is great to be back, it is such an iconic place, I am always looking forward to the fact that the World Series is the most,” said world number one.
“This is the one that all players want to win, it is really something special.
“I would mean a lot to put my name on this trophy, so it’s something I would do.
“Hopefully I can tick another thing from the CV that I have always wanted to win.”
Nathan Aspinall also plays and indicated that he has a better chance without winning his wife and the distraction of the bright lights of New York.

“It’s great to come to America, usually my wife was with me, but I’m alone, so it’s a little different than in previous years,” said Aspinall.
“I think I will concentrate a little more on the tournament myself than in previous years, which hopefully means that I can win it.”
