The Eiffel Tower is closed to tourists because of heat. Here is the reason why it happens

A marine heat wave in the Mediterranean combines with a strong warming dome that leads to Europe hurls under a brutal early summer heat wave.

It is a pattern that often appears when heating the planet: the influence of Mediterranean marine heat waves was more pronounced in the last summers, with the octopus heating played a role in spiking temperatures, which contributed to fatal floods and interrupted fires.

The water temperatures in the Mediterranean are up to 9 degrees above average over a significant sea heat wave for this season. The most intensive warming is available in the western Mediterranean, including southern France.

This helps to cause high humidity and to keep the temperatures at night over the regions affected by the heat.

The heat wave, in which hot air flows from Africa north, also reinforces the marine heat wave in a feedback cycle.

The temperatures have broken records in Spain and Portugal because the swaths of Europe, so that more records fall until Wednesday when the heat wave intensifies.

In the city of El Granado in Spain, the temperatures on Sunday rose to 46 degrees Celsius (114.8 Fahrenheit), a new national record for June, as the national meteorological service of Spain Aemet emerges. Last month Spain’s hottest June was in the listed story because the temperatures “powdered records”, said Aemet on Tuesday.

In Portugal, a temporary temperature of 46.6 degrees Celsius (115.9 Fahrenheit) in the city of Mora, about 80 miles east of Lisbon, was recorded in Portugal, which would be a new national record for June.

The scorching warmth drives almost the entire whole of France. According to the preliminary recordings of Météo France, several cities had temperatures over 100 degrees on Monday.

A red heat wave warning, the highest name, is available on Tuesday for 16 French departments, including Île-de-France, where Paris is located. The Eiffel Tower summit is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday due to the heat for tourists.

The United Kingdom also bakes and currently receives its second heat wave of the summer. The temperatures that were pushed over 90 degrees on Monday ensure very unpleasant conditions in a country in which less than 5% of the houses have air conditioning.

“The current Heatwave in the Juni-Juli heat exposes millions of Europeans of high heat stress,” said Samantha Burgess, strategic leadership for the climate in the European Center for Weather forecast with a medium range.

“The recently observed temperatures are typical of the months of July and August and usually only appear every summer a few times.”

Forest fires sweep several countries when the temperatures rise. The fires broke out in Aude in the southwest of the country on Sunday and burned almost 400 acres. 50,000 people were evacuated in Turkey when firefighters in the provinces of West Izmir and Manisa tackle violent flames.

The temperature records are also in Germany on Tuesday and Wednesday, while the heat dome extends to the east, and before a number of cold relief from the west swing to northwestern Europe.

The climate change caused by humans means that heat waves are more, more intense and durable. Europe is the fastest warmed continent and warms up twice as high as the rest of the world. Climate change also leads to more frequent and more intensive sea heat waves.
