The countdown to Wimbledon 2025 is over, with tennis fans flow from today to SW1.
And while many of us will observe from our sofas – preparation for strawberries – have achieved some happy tickets, while many planning to adorn the famous queue in the hope of gaining access.
If you plan to go down, remember: There is a strict code of conduct to keep up with Royal Ascot.
Technically speaking, there is no dress code, although there are unwritten rules to know whether you want to look the part or competing regular guests like Sienna Miller or David Beckham. There is also a strong chance that the Princess of Wales will return this year, since she has been a patron of All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016.
When you go to a match, what is what – and what not to do.
Dressing
As already mentioned, there is no technically no dress code for Wimbledon viewers, but it will be intelligent, especially if it is the center court or the Court of Justice or the number one. And it is a prerequisite if you have an invitation to the Royal Box.
However, there is a major rule for everyone: guests are prohibited to wear clothing for ambush marketing – this is all with a company logo that is decorated on the back. And while they are currently in the fashion world de, “political” slogans are also prohibited.
There is an art to look at the part wherever you sit, and for Style Inspiration you look at Alexa Chung and the most hyped Guest Zendaya of the last year, who decided on a crispy, neat tailor of JW Anderson, which she styled for Challengers.
Go to mid-range labels such as ME+EM and whistle for intelligent tailoring with increased details. With nothing under the wide legs and blazers of linen are perfectly cut and keep them cool. Or try ghost, self -portrait and rixo for dresses with medium length in flattering cuts. Powder blue, marine and salmon are all classic colors for the stands.
On a cooler day you may want to put a Cardi to Alexa. & Daughter has chic styles in many colors.
Large hats that could block the view of everyone are no no to women. And that also applies to the boys, if they don’t want to find themselves like Lewis Hamilton, refused access to a very important game.
A jacket and tie is firmly encouraged. As David Beckham said: “I love Wimbledon. It’s elegant, classic – always a good day.”
As for the part of the men’s clothing? This year Beckham is wearing a full look from his Beckham X boss collection, including a double suit in off-white and a cotton shirt with a brown tie. Previously, he was a big fan of a Ralph Lauren look.
etiquette
We know how tempting it is: a short “go ann emma!” While it goes to serve – but apparently it is rude. It is best not to distract the players or their co -guests. Be warned: the referee can even get involved.
As soon as the point has been played, you can clap and clap as much as you want. You should also not cheer in the middle of the rallies – the total silence is requested to the end.
Also note that you can only leave your seat after the third game of a set. If the players change all two games afterwards.
You cannot return to your church until these times. So it is best to hold the pimms back until after the game if you don’t want to miss big moments.
Food and drink
You are welcome to pack your own picnic. So pocket a cool box and charge the strawberries to keep them running in the queue and throughout the game.
You can bring your own alcohol, even though you are limited to the equivalent of a bottle of wine or champagne (750 ml) or two cans (500 ml) or two doses of pre -mixed aperitifs (such as Pimms) per person. However, bottles with spirits are prohibited, so that a straight bottle of the tip is not allowed.
Glass goods must not be used on the show areas and all bottles, including champagne and sparkling wine, must be opened before they go to the stands.
Bottles are also not allowed. And also no travel mugs or opaque bottles.
Now you know the rules: Happy Spectating!
