The Czech Republic affected by the large power failure

Prague (Reuters) – A large power failure that hit parts of the Czech Republic on Friday, which rose shortly underground trains in the capital Prague, was probably the result of a technical failure, without signs of cyber or terrorist attack, the authorities said.

The incident will probably contribute to the resistance of the European power grids and the infrastructure after Spain suffered the worst power failure in its history in April, and a fire has eliminated the power supply of the Heathrow Airport in London in March.

“Part of the transmission system is without tension; the event, which is also affected by a larger part of the transitional system substation,” said grid operator CEPs in an explanation.

CEPs later said that five out of eight affected substances had resumed operations and that the causes of the failure were examined.

It influenced the regions of Liberec, North-Bohemia, East Bohhemia and Central Bohemia and Prague, said CEPS.

In the Czech television, the Interior Minister Vit Rakusan said that the authorities had no information that indicated that there was a cyber or terrorist attack.

Czech Minister of Transport Martin Kupka said that in X trains had been hired in a number of lines and five out of 14 regions of the country were affected.

The Prague Transport Society DPP said that it restored the company after underground trains were stopped briefly and that the traffic was stopped in the right bank of the capital.

The Czech media reported on a number of people who are caught in parts of Prague and central Bohemia.

E.ON, which operates part of the network in the southeastern Czech Republic, said that his supply area was not affected.

The neighbor of the Polish power grid operators also said that his systems were not affected.
