Some facts about the strongest earthquakes ever recorded

One of the strongest earthquakes that were ever recorded met Russia in the Far East early Wednesday, which led to Tsunami waves washing ashore in Japan and Alaska, and demands that people in the Pacific be on alert or move to higher soil.

The Temblor of 8.8 magnitude made warnings in Hawaii, North and Central America and the Pacific Islands south towards New Zealand. Officials warned that the potential Tsunami risk could take more than a day.

Here is a look at some of the most powerful earthquakes so far, which, according to the US Geological Survey, were previously recorded.

1. Biobío, Chile

An earthquake of the size of 9.5 magnitude in a central region of Chile 1960. The earthquake of Valdivia or a large earthquake of the Chilean earthquake. The largest Temblor led to more than 1,600 deaths in the country and beyond. Thousands of people were injured.

2. Alaska

4. Tohoku, Japan

An earthquake of strength 9.1 in 2011 hit Japan’s coast in 2011 and triggered a towering tsunami that obtained into the nuclear power plant in Fukushima. It threw out electricity and cooling systems and triggered the meltdown in three reactors. In the quake and tsunami, more than 18,000 people were killed, some of whom have never been recovered.

5. Kamchatka, Russia

In 1952, a quake of the strength caused 9.0 significant damage, but despite a tsunami that hit Hawaii with 9.1-meter waves.

6. Biobío, Chile

A massive earthquake of 8.8 magnitude met in 2010 Central Chile, which shook the capital for a minute and half and triggered a tsunami. More than 500 people were killed in the catastrophe.

7. Esmeraldas, Ecuador

In 1906, an earthquake of 8.8 killed and the resulting tsunami killed around 1,500 people. Its effects were felt for miles along the Central American coast and San Francisco and Japan.

8. Alaska
