Xerta, Spain (Reuters) -ching authorities ordered that more than 18,000 inhabitants in the Northeast Province of Northeast Tonstragona remain inside on Tuesday, and several dozen were got out of control as forest fire and consumed almost 3,000 hectares (7,413 ACRES) vegetables.

Large parts of Spain are on the alert for forest fires after the country has achieved its hottest June. Two people died on July 1 in the Catalonia region, where Tarragona is located.

The recent fire broke out in a remote area near the village of Paul in the early Monday, in which strong winds and rough terrain have hindered the fire fighting efforts. A military emergency unit was used on Tuesday on Tuesday with more than 300 firefighters in the region.

“Since midnight, firefighters have been fighting with the wind soils who have reached up to 90 kilometers per hour (56 miles per hour),” said the regional fire service in Catalonia and added that the strong Mistralwind will be waned in the afternoon.

Overnight, fire engines drove on the winding streets of the Paul’s Mountains, surrounded by flames when the crews rated and tried to contain the fire.

In the neighboring villages of Xerta and Alduover, the residents spent a sleepless night when the flames threatened their houses.

“(There was a lot of fear and a lot of crying because we are already on the edge of the fire. We couldn’t leave our house last night. Terrible, it has never been seen before,” Rosa Veleda, 76, told Reuters.

The authorities said that they had prevented the fire from spreading through the Ebro flow, which would have worsened the situation. About 30% of the affected area lie in the port of the port, and the officials examine the origins of the fire.
