The luxury -week tour to Cornwall was cut after the Britannic Explorer needed maintenance on the day on which it was supposed to leave.
Instead of taking the trip from London Victoria to Penzance on Friday, the Belmond train for repairs near Southampton was diverted.
It is assumed that some passengers paid more than £ 50,000 for a three-night stay in one of the three “big suites” of the train.
The urgent repairs mean that the trip from July 11th to the Lake District was also canceled.
The train has fine bodies, 18 sleep-cabin suites and spa treatments on board. There are three large suites and 15 standard suites under his cabins. The food experience was designed by Simon Rogan, the award -winning restaurateur.
The cancellation took place only one day after the guests had celebrated the start of the train with a three -hour party by Keira Knightley at London Euston station.
Belmond, who also runs the Oriental Express in Singapore and Malaysia, says that his wasteful new service on July 21 will now leave in London for mid-wales.
The company said that passengers were offered a complete reimbursement “including the associated travel expenses”.
A company spokeswoman said: “The adaptation of the schedule was due to the fact that the final refinements were made to ensure that the train is possible to the highest degree.
“Our team is committed to offering an extraordinary experience.”
In November 2024, Belmond announced that the “Unapologist Tisch British, effortlessly elegant” duty in mid -2025.
A spokesman said he would offer three night trips “through the spectacular natural landscapes of Cornwall, the Lake District and Wales”.
Hendrik Huebner, General Manager of the Britannic Explorer, said: “It is a reinterpretation of what can be in Great Britain.
“We create moments of amazement between iconic stops – slow, soulful, sensory journey, which corresponds very well with what luxury travelers are looking for now.”
When he spoke about the food on board Mr. Rogan in November last November, he hoped that every passenger “not only enjoys the flavors, but also feels a connection between the dishes and the trip and makes their time on board really unforgettable”.
A trip with the Britannic Explorer in a double cabin begins at 11,000 GBP, including a three-night series route, excursions, meals, wine and other alcoholic drinks on board, which rose to £ 16,000 for a suite and a double bed.
With £ 16,000, the cost of a trip to the Britannic Explorer is sufficient to finance a 75-day cruise for two around South America and the Caribbean.
