Lucy Bronze asked the defending champion England to support the outsider mentality deeply in her DNA when they shoot their quarter -finals of Euro 2025 with Sweden in Zurich.
The 33-year-old right-back is the most experienced member of Sarina Wiegman’s team, who has been seen in seven important tournaments as a neglected member of the Hope Powell’s Squad since her trip to the Euro 2013.

In Switzerland, the English teammates of bronze have drawn the wisdom of the defender of the Chelsea defender when they navigated after a roller coaster group, especially after their opening defeat against France.
“We said we are a” New England, “a new team,” said Bronze. “And what was meant by that, we had many younger players and new players who have very different experiences with playing for England than with myself, where we know that England always had to dig deeply all the time.
“How, 2015 was the first time that we defeated Germany – that is currently crazy to think.
“But England in the past was that they have to dig up appearances and they may be the outsider, they are not the favorite. While this England team has developed and changed.”

After the 2-1 defeat against France, which hung her campaign on a thread, Bronze recalled her teammates that England defeated against the same country at the 2015 World Cup, but then achieved the best possible third place in a global show post.
This defeat in Zurich agrees, ultimately agrees with the Löwinnen, who increasingly talked about how to play “real England”, and 2017 champions beat the Netherlands with 4: 0 and Wales 6: 1 to qualify for the last eight as group D.
She said: “Obviously we are a very talented team, lots of technical skills, tactics and everything that comes into play, but we never want to forget that we are England, we are right, England, and when Push is pushed, we can win a game in all possible means.”

England defeated Sweden 4-0 in the semi -finals of the Euro 2022 in the Bramall Lane, but met in her last two meetings with Peter Gerhardson’s team, who, unlike England, also qualified for the semi -finals of the Nations League this autumn.
The goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, Bronzes teammates, is among the most important tournament debutants in England at the Super League of women Chelsea, who contributed a highlight reel pass to the Netherlands.
“It is a very important part of this team,” added bronze. “I think it is definitely built with confidence when the tournament has continued – probably the best goalkeeper in the world with her feet.

“But there is much more from Hannah. She is a very young goalkeeper and she is already doing fantastic well, especially with her first big tournament. She is a key player for us.
“Like tooney (Ella Toone) and LJ (Lauren James), she is a player that I think we can see so much more to just grow and become even better.”
