Key RFK JR consultant benefit from a new federal health initiative

Federal health officers want to start a “brave, angular” public service campaign to warn the Americans of the dangers of ultra-processed food on social media, transit ads, advertising boards and even text messages.

And you may be able to benefit from the results.

Ultra-processed foods are a fixation for the secretary of the US Health and Human Services (HHS), Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“We have to repair our food supply. And that’s number one,” said Kennedy at his hearing.

The introduction of healthier foods in the Americans has proven to be one of the resonance problems in Kennedy’s “Make America Novle Again” (Maha) (Maha) campaign – and probably the only one that Democrats and Republicans agree in principle.

“The creative contents of the campaign will turn their heads, create viral moments on social media and, above all, inspire the Americans to take their health back by eating real food,” said a document published by the Federal Government that described the campaign.

According to documents, the campaign is expected to cost between 10 and 20 million US dollars. Anyone who wants to apply for the award has a quick handling – the deadline is June 26th.

“The aim of this requirement is to persuade the Americans on the role of processed foods in the activity of epidemic and other chronic diseases of diabetes, to inspire people to take on personal responsibility for their diet and drive measurable improvements in diabetes prevention and national health results,” continued it.

The new PR campaign also underlines the unconventional approach of the Trump government for hiring -including its dependence on special employees.

Calley, an important consultant from Kennedy, could benefit directly from one of the specified goals of the campaign: “Technology such as wearables as cool, modern tools to measure the nutritional effect and to control your own health”.

Calley Means is a high -ranking Kennedy consultant and, according to Bloomberg, was set as a special government agent to concentrate on food policy. He founded a company that helps the Americans to maintain portable devices that were reimbursed tax -free via health savings accounts.

Casey means Calley’s sister. It also operates a start-up in the healthcare system, although its portable devices such as continuous glucose monitors sell. She is Kennedy’s candidate for US surgeons General and an entrepreneur of the healthcare system, whose companies sells continuous glucose monitors – such a portable device. Calley Means Company also works with Casey’s company.

Due to Calley Means Status as a special employee, he was not forced to separate from his private business interests – a situation that has already led to an ethics complaint. Consumer representatives such as the non -profit group Public Citizen had warned that such hiring practices could cause conflicts of interest. HHS did not answer a request for a comment on Calley Means’ private business interests or his role in the production of the advertising campaign.

Although the publicity campaign focuses on the ultra-processed food connection to diabetes, at least one top-class nutritionist was brave in terms of their focus.

“The ultra-processed food-cleans of them belong to breakfast cereals that are ultra-processed because they are enriched with vitamins,” said Walter Willett, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the Harvard Th Chan School of Public Health. “These are good if you are whole grain breakfast cereals and whole grain bread,” he said.

Ultra-processed foods are generally recognized as lemonades, salty snacks and frozen meals, which are constructed as shelter-stable, convenient and inexpensive. Such foods are associated with an increased risk of type -2 diabetes or insulin resistance.

The mechanism through which such food could increase the risk of diabetes is unknown, a problem that extends from the “heterogeneous category” of food that includes the ultra-processed category. The proposal for the advertising campaign does not venture into the definition of the category, even if Kennedy has determined that it “poisoned the American people”.

“If you say processed food, do not imagine a cola in your brain, and that’s the biggest problem,” said Willett, who added that most campaigns for public services are carefully designed and tested for effectiveness.
