Johannus Monday insisted that he would learn the lessons of his defeat in Wimbledon against Tommy Paul, but only when he took the time to enjoy his Grand Slam singles debut.

When he returned to the SW19 for the first time since 2023, where he had teamed up with Jacob Fearnley in doubles, on Tuesday he made his virgin as a solo law when he took on Paul to No. 3 against the world.

Despite his best efforts, he was defeated by the American 6-4 6-4 6: 2, but while on Monday it was admitted that a lesson was taught to him to compete at the top, he is determined to absorb as much as possible from her encounter.

“It was very cool. It was always a dream of mine to play singles in Wimbledon on a large farm,” said Monday.

“There are currently only 12 players as Tommy Paul in the world, so he is a pretty good player.

“It was a very difficult game and I felt the pressure on it. No expectation to win, but it is a different feeling to go on this place.

“You play a lot in the line, but it was a dream for me to go to a dish.

“I just tried to really enjoy the moment and enjoy it as much as possible.

“Afterwards I talked to my trainer and said that today it is not the day I have my game Nitpick. We can do that in the other 364 days of the year.

“After setting up the dust, I will look back on the match and look at the things I can take with me because there are many things I can take with me, but this is not hours after the game.

“What a cool experience that was. It is a dream that I will be true and I want to enjoy this moment because it doesn’t come over too often.”

Monday does not have to wait too long to regain the dream. The 23-year-old works with David Stevenson as a men’s double cards and revealed that he was looking for the laws of SW19 for Anthere.

“I will never complain that they play more games at Wimbledon, added on Monday.” Whether singles, doubles, touch tennis, I will register, I will play every single match that I can do here.

“It will be another very cool experience that you can look forward to.”
