It is a bit early – Fa boss Mark Bullingham about Sarina Wiegman New Contract Realks

Mark Bullingham welcomed the “incredible” leadership of the English boss Sarina Wiegman and promised “at a reasonable time” to discuss her stay as head coach of the Lionesses.

Wiegman prompted her third European triumph with the penalty over Spain on Sunday to ensure that England maintained the trophy that they won for the first time in 2022.

The Dutch coach will be awarded to the football association until after the 2027 World Cup.

Bullingham of the FA managing director towards BBC Sport: “She is an incredible person, incredible trainer and incredible guide.

“We are very happy to have you, proud to have her as part of the team, and obviously she will work with us for the World Cup.”

Bullingham said when contract talks would take place, Bullingham said: “It is a bit early for that.

“We are pleased that she is with us for the World Cup and we will have this conversation at a reasonable time.

“She is an incredible manager and we are happy to work with her, so it has to get with her. We will have this conversations if you are ready to go.”

Wiegman, 55, has been head coach of England since 2021 and led the team to two European championship titles and a second place at the 2023 World Cup.
