Is it certain to visit Dubai? Latest advice when BA can withstand flights

British Airways has blocked flights from London to Dubai because military activity continues to escalate in the Middle East.

The BA flight cancellations took place on the same day (June 22nd), on which the foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) updated to travel to Dubai and warn of “continuous hostilities” in the region.

Here is everything you need to know whether it is safe to visit Dubai.

How close is Dubai to Iran?

Dubai is about 90 miles from Iran. For comparison, this is a shorter distance than Portsmouth to Le Havre, France. Dubai is also located west of Hormuz’s street, through which a fifth of the world’s oil supplies pass every day. In the past few days, Iran has threatened to close the street for retaliation measures on the US strikes.

However, the Iranian military sites that were exposed to attacks from Israel and the USA are much further away. The southernmost of the three nuclear facilities bombed on June 22nd are located near Isfahan, about 560 miles from Dubai. For comparison, this is similar to London as in San Sebastian in Spain.

Dubai is even further away from Israel: around 1,325 miles from Tel Aviv. For the context, it is similar to London like Kyiv.

Why did British Airway’s flights to Dubai block?

On Sunday, Ba canceled his flights from Heathrow Airport to Dubai and Doha, the capital of Katar. Flights from Dubai and Doha to Great Britain were also canceled, so that some British passengers were stranded in the Middle East. A BA spokesman added: “As a result of the latest events, we have adapted our flight schedule to ensure the security of our customers and our crew, whatever our top priority.

“We contact our customers to advise you on their options while we work through this developing situation.”

BA said that due to travel to Doha or Dubai von Heathrow, BA would be given the opportunity to re -book without charges between Sunday and Tuesday (June 24) at a later date.

The FCDO recommends that the British nationals, local and international media for the latest information to follow and to follow instructions from the local authorities. Similar warnings were added to FCDO pages for Morocco, Cyprus and Egypt.

Is it certain to visit Dubai?

Apart from the youngest canceled flights, the holidays to Dubai will continue as usual.

The foreign office sees Dubai as certain as long as travelers take the usual reasonable precautions to protect themselves from crimes and to respect local customs, laws and traditions.

Is there a terrorist threat in Dubai?

The foreign office finds that there is a high risk of terrorist attacks worldwide.

FCDO advises in the United Arab Emirates: “Terrorists will probably try to carry out attacks in the United Arab Emirates (VAE). Attacks could be indiscriminately, even in places that are visited by foreign nationals. Terrorists continue to testify that the threatening attacks in the Golf region.

The FCDO lists military sites, transport hubs and overcrowded places as potential goals.

What if I want to cancel my vacation?

If you have booked a parcel vacation to Dubai and want to cancel your trip for some reason, contact your tour operator and you may offer flexibility with alternative data.

However, note that there is no guarantee that you will not receive a refund because there are no formal advice against trips to the United Arab Emirates, and you cannot be able to withdraw money with your travel insurance company.

If you have booked flights and accommodations independently of each other and want to cancel your vacation, contact your travel providers as soon as possible to determine whether you can reorganize your plans. However, note that due to the circumstances, it is unlikely that you will receive a complete refund.
