England’s hopes for a series victory against India seemed to slip away on the last afternoon after persistent resistance from Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja.
Ben Stokes opposed a problem with his right shoulder to relieve KL Rahul for 90 and end an 188-run stand with Shubman Gill, who was traveling in the fourth Rothesay test 103 at lunch.

Jadeja was dropped by Joe Root from his first ball and he and his roommate Sundar populated the nerves of India and, for four to 322, brought them to the tea-and a first-in-in-in deficit of 311 runs from 11.
Sundar, who was injured with Rishabh Pant, did not end the session with Jadeja undefeated to 53 and, before the prospect of just a second draw in Bazball era – had both exposed to Emirates Old Trafford after washing out of 2023 Ashes.
Apart from the award -winning scalp from Gill, England could not redeem the second new ball, which lasted 40 minutes before lunch, with Liam Dawson Containment, but could not take advantage of the foot holes on a pitch on the fifth day.

In fact, Stokes offered the greatest threat, especially at the beginning of the day. There was doubts as to whether he would even hunt after fighting with cramp and pain in his left leg in Manchester.
Further fitness concerns became clear after Liam Dawson started the day. Stokes rubbed his shoulder, which piled up his first over his arm.

Stokes might have had Kieme to 81, but a journey broke through a jumping Ollie Pope’s hands on cover to give Gill his second postponement after he was set to 46 by Dawson on Saturday.
But variable bounce was increasingly in the game and Rahul was beaten on the knee roll by a delivery that was sacked and low, with an already strong Stokes bent back to see how the finger was raised by referee Rod Tucker.

Gill wore a painful blow against his injured right hand and the helmet after a further delivery of Stokes jumped a length of the length of India, but the captain in India was a ninth ton in 36 tests.
In addition to Sundar, Gill India brought in safer waters and the deficit in double -digit numbers after England had taken the new ball without much reward.
However, Gill fell to Archer a few minutes before lunch and fell to Jamie Smith through a simple catch. Jadeja also sat on his first ball, but Root could not hold on to the head height at the first slip.
Archer, usually excellent for left -handed people, was too straight in the afternoon session and possibly aimed at the pads of Sundar and Jadeja, both of whom were all too happy to cut off their legs.

Dawson was neat, but ineffective for the left -handers and asked Wurzel to appear with the new ball after only 20 over, with the Yorkshireman brought one to tear past Sundar’s outer edge.
Stokes delivered a brief outbreak in front of the tea, but ran 15 runs from his third and sat up as a short ball, hit the border twice from Sundar and once from Jadeja to the border when the couple brought their fifties and brought India into the lead.
There was the possibility of a run after Jadeja had pushed into the ceiling and set off, but the incoming archer fell over while he slorn the ball and the chance was gone.
