The dozens of humanoid robots on the Shanghais World Ai Conference (WAIC) served the craft beer, playing Mahjong, stacking shelves and boxing.

The annual event is prepared to present China’s progress in the constantly developed area of artificial intelligence. The government intends to position the country as a leader worldwide for technology and regulation if it immerses them on the heels of the United States.

Premier Li Qiang opened the event on Saturday and announced that China would set up a new organization for working on AI government and warned the advantages of development with the risks.

But in the cave -like expo next door, the mood was dizzying.

“Demand is currently very strong, be it in relation to data, scenarios, model training or artificial construction. The general atmosphere in all of these areas is very lively,” said Yang Yifan, F&-Director at Transwarp, an AI platform provider in Shanghai.

This year’s WAIC has been the first since a breakthrough for the Chinese AI in January when Startup Deepseek introduced a AI model, which, like the Top -US, was carried out for an obvious fraction of the costs.

The organizers said that the forum comprised more than 800 companies and presented over 3,000 products -the undeniable crowd -geasers are the humanoid robots and their feet of slightly surreal party tricks.

At one stand, a robot played drums, half a stroke of the time, to Queen’s “We Will Rock You”, while a man in safety sectors and a safety vest opened a giggling amount.

Other droids, some in working overalls or baseball caps, manned lines of assembly, played with human opponents or sloppy refreshing drinks from a donor.

While most of the machines on display were still a little jerk, the increasing sophistication a year was clear compared to the year.

The Chinese government has supported robotics, an area in which some experts believe that China already has the upper hand over the United States.

At the Hangzhou stand in Unitree, his G1-Android-round 130 centimeters (four feet), with a two-hour battery life, gave and beaten and held the balance with relative fluidity when he shaded around a ring.

Before the opening of the conference, Unitreree announced that a humanoid in full size, the R1, would start for less than $ 6,000.

– ‘digital people’ –

Most high-tech helpers do not need hardware.

At the Expo, AI companion in the form of middle-aged business people, hardly any clothed women and old war people from screens waved and asked how their day was, while other stands were leading demos that enabled visitors to create their own digital avatars.

The Tech -Riese Baidu announced a new generation of technology for its “digital people” on Saturday -AI agents who have modeled the real people, which is “able to think, make decisions and work together”.

The company recently carried out a six-hour e-commerce program organized by the “digital person” of a well-known streamer and another avatar.

The two agents defeated the debut sale of the human streamer in some categories, said Baidu.

Over ten thousand companies already use the technology, the head of the department, Wu Chenxia, told AFP.

When asked about the effects on the jobs – one of the most important concerns about the widespread KI acceptance – insisted that AI was a tool that should save the quality and saving of time and effort, which still required human entries.

At the moment, only a few visitors to the Waic Expo seemed concerned about the potential effects of the rear dog robots, which they excitedly observed to be concerned.

“When it comes to China’s AI development, we have a comparatively good basis for data and also a wealth of application scenarios,” said Yang von Transwarp.

“There are many more experimental opportunities.”
