Hughes evaluates the previous pre -season work by Carlisle United

Mark Hughes says that he already sees positive and essential signs from his Carlisle United squad in the early stages of the pre-season.

The blues are preparing for their second full week after a hard physical opening for training.

Hughes and his coaches – including five new obligations – stuck up to date both on the training ground in the Brunton Park and on the career in Sheepmount.

The head coach says that some of the physical work were exhausting, but his players adapted them with the right determination and “resistance”.

“It was very good. I enjoyed the first week. I think it was a good mix of ballwork and physical work,” said Hughes that News & Star.

“We were on the track and gave them times of really intensive physical work that they went through really well up to this point.

“I wouldn’t have liked it back to my game days, so some of the track meetings were a little more difficult than I played.

“This is how she earns them – nobody faded, everyone was good and showed this resistance that we will need in both games and during the season.

“Many characteristics and properties that we have to show regularly are currently shown.”

Carlisle is now preparing for her first preparatory Friendly a journey behind the service on Tuesday to Motherwell.

Hughes will judge a number of his players in the first team before choosing their commitment, with a handful of health injury “Niggles”.

This includes Morgan Feeney and Stephen Wearne, while Georgie Kelly is also cultivated in the early stages of the pre -season.

But the game could see the first excursions in an United shirt for other new faces such as Regan Linney, David Ajiboye, Junior Luamba and Sam Murray.
