A father who dressed in a Gorilla costume for the last official day of his daughter was informed by her “aroused school” that his actions were “serious protection of the protective measures”.
The 47-year-old Chris Napthine wore the outfit to collect his seven-year-old daughter on Friday, and said that he later received a “ridiculous” text from the school.
The daughter of Mr. Napthines was on her last day of the second year in the Hertford Vale Church of England Primary School in Staxton, North Yorkshire when he decided to have fun.
He said: “This is what fathers do – in embarrassment of her daughters. I always play jokes and play around. I recently put a horse’s head up. On the last day of school I put on a Gorilla outfit. Then I got this red text from school and said it was a” serious problem “.
The text divided by Mr. Napthine was: “Please do not come to school in a costume or a mask. This is a serious problem with the protective measure. It also annoyed some of the children and caused concern for adults.”
But Mr. Napthine said that he had not wrongly seen his prank and described the school as “woke up” and added: “What is that a protection problem? Where will it end? The children are not allowed to dress up?
“I just tried to laugh a bit, but the school took it seriously. I found it ridiculous. Safety provision is about the safety of the children. A father in a Gorilla outfit is not a protection problem, let alone a” serious one “.
“I had a lot of support messages and said: ‘What is this country comes about in the world? A child can identify as a cat, but a father cannot dress up as a gorilla.
Paul Bradbury, the chairman of the school’s Governor Council, said: “The security and well -being of our students are not only our commitment, but are also a legal responsibility for all schools. An essential part of it is to know who is in school rooms at all times.
“Parents and supervisors trust us to protect their children, and it is important that we maintain this trust by ensuring that all visitors are clearly identifiable and behave in such a way that we support a calm and safe learning environment. We are sure that people are not possible if someone wears a full gorilla suit.
“That is why we asked the parents not to do this again, and were clear that some children were entertained, some were afraid and our employees could not identify an adult on site who looked through windows. We are still obliged to create a safe, supportive and respectful environment for all students, employees and visitors.”
As when Mr. Napthine reacted to the school’s explanation and claimed that he decreased his Gorilla mask at school, which means that both employees and his daughter were “well aware” that he was.
He added: “I understand that it would be a protection problem if I had gone and it hadn’t decreased, but I decreased the mask. They were very well aware that I was and they knew it was, regardless of it.”
