Delta flight with around 300 passengers that were redirected to the island in the Atlantic Ocean

A Delta flight was diverted to an island in the Atlantic this week after the plane had a mechanical problem and left almost 300 passengers for a day on the island.

The New York flight started on Sunday from Madrid, but when the flight went over the ocean, the flight crew had to lead him to an island in the Azores Island Group.

A DELTA spokesman said that the crew landed the aircraft “after specifying a mechanical problem with an engine”. Delta did not work on what exactly the mechanical problem was. Passengers got out of the plane and spent the night in hotels.

“The flight ended up safely and we sincerely apologize to our customers for their experience and delay in their trips,” says a DELTA declaration.

Around 282 customers and 13 crew members were on the flight. They received accommodations and meals for the night when technicians worked on the plane.

The Azores are a group of Portuguese islands in the Atlantic. The US government has an air force base in the city of Lajes, where Delta’s Sunday flight was diverted.

The customers and the crew were placed on a new aircraft that arrived at John F Kennedy at the New York airport on the following day.

Delta will offer compensation to the customers who were affected by the diversion.

The United States has seen a number of aircraft incidents and accidents this year. In Washington DC, a plane collided with a Black Hawk helicopter that killed 60 people. A Delta flight from Minneapoli’s fire caught in Toronto and turned on the head. Everyone survived.
