His appearances brought him the young player of the club season and played back primarily as an advanced right wing.

In January, Palace refused £ 750,000 for a permanent step.

Imray originally came from Chelmsford City to Palace in February 2021, where he appeared 18 leading appearances before his 18th birthday.

Several advertising candidates in the league -1, including Huddersfield Town, showed interest in the defender this summer.

However, it was Steve Bruce’s Blackpool who won the race with the attraction of playing under a top-class former Premier League manager who was seen as an attractive offer for the 21-year-old.

As part of the northwest, Imray said: “It is a privilege to be here, and I can’t wait to get started.

“I talked to a few people about the club and they all only had to say positive things.

“It is a massive club and one with a great ambition. There was also a big draw here, so I can’t wait to start and play in front of the followers.”

The head of the Seaders, Bruce, added: “We are pleased to welcome Danny in Bloomfield Road. He has a real potential that he consistently showed in the second division last season, and we believe that he has the attributes to reach the step to the next level.

“We look forward to working with him and watching him in Mandarine.”
