Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany praised the relentless threat to attack of his team despite the Ebbs and rivers of their 4-2 club world champion against Flameng on Sunday.

The German team led 2-0 and had another advantage of two goals in 3-1, but on both occasions the Brazilian club found a way to keep the competition alive.

Although the former captain of Manchester City was satisfied with this resilience of his team, he was particularly impressed by the way his team was never pulled out of the game.

“I think the most important part of the game for me, which always remains an important part of the game, is that we have always remained dangerous,” he told reporters.

“It didn’t matter whether we defended or whether we had the ball. I think if we had the ball, we were always dangerous. But even when we defended, we looked like a team in the moments that could score at any time,” he added.

“I thought we stayed calm and then we scored the goals at the right time to turn off a little pressure. Playing against these teams are a large part of the game. The Boca game is very similar. They feel like games. And we have to adapt and find a way to win,” he said.

Company said that the ability to regain control over a game when an opponent is built up in dynamics is an element of the game that is difficult to teach.

– ‘better players’ –

“It is the most difficult to train, it really is. I was a player myself. In these moments, they take responsibility. It doesn’t matter how good your coach is, it doesn’t matter, you have to.

“And the main thing is that you have to stay calm. It is something the players have done, it is also the experience, but it is also something we are talking about.

“We cannot lose the game in five minutes because we had a bad period or because we thought about it for a stupid punishment.”

Flamengo coach Filipe Luis agreed that his team from Bavaria did not get a break.

“The pressure they put on you is immense. They come up with eight or ten players. They deserve to win,” he said.

“Our plan worked and we were able to exert pressure and scored goal, but they were better than we were, we play against the soccer elite,” he said.

Luis was again asked about the quality gap between South American clubs and the top Europeans and found that the economic realities around the transfer of players were a major element.

“If Vinicius JR hadn’t gone for Real Madrid, we would have the best player in the world. You (South American players) want to be in the elite and they are there. We had not changed reality today and the tournament – they are high -quality teams,” he said.

“We have many Brazilian players in our teams, but they (the European teams) have the best. They have better players, that’s a fact.”
