Massimiliano Allegri, head coach of AC Milan, has confirmed that Mike Maignan will stay with the Rossoneri next season after the goalkeeper almost came to Chelsea.
The blues held extended negotiations for the French shooting stop in June, but the move was carried out on the Deadline Day because the parties did not reach an agreement on a fee.

“Maignan remains the captain and is one of the best goalkeepers in Europe,” he told the press on Monday. “I am very happy that he decided to stay.”
Allegri wanted to keep Maignan, who only remains in his AC Milan contract for a year. According to reports, he carried out crisis talks with the player to convince him of staying in Italy.

The Rossoneri endured a difficult campaign last year. They missed a berth of the Champions League after taking eighth place in Serie A and lost 1-0 against Bologna in the Coppa Italia final.
And they added reinforcements before the new campaign, with Allegri also confirming the arrival of Luka Modric.
The Croatian international will leave Real Madrid as Free Agent after the World Club World Championship and will sign a one-year contract with the Italian outfit.
Allegri continued: “We are waiting for Luka Modric. He will arrive in August.
“Modric is an important and extraordinary player. He doesn’t need an introduction.”
He added that Rafael Leao will remain in the club despite the concrete interest of Bayern Munich.
