This Wednesday, the Princess of Wales visited the Cancer Wellbeing Center in the Hospital colchester.

In conversation with the patients there, the royal – which is in an Instagram post in remission at the beginning of this year, was that despite its “relief” it would take some time to adapt to a new normality – an insight into their relaxation trip.

“There is a whole phase when you end your treatment, everyone expects you to be better – go! But that’s not the case at all.”

The princess continued: “You are not necessarily in the clinical team, but you can no longer work at home, as you may have got used to.

“And actually someone who helps them talk about it, show them and to guide them through this type of phase that comes after the treatment that I think is really valuable.”

In the meantime, Caroline Geraghty, specialist cancer information nurse at Cancer Research UK, wished the Princess of Wales all the best on behalf of the charity.

“Cancer can have a long -lasting influence on all aspects of a person’s life, and everyone will have a different experience in recovery. It is therefore important that people get as much time and support as they need,” she said.

“Your royal highness has shown enormous courage to share your experiences with an illness that affects so many of us and reminds us to think about our own health and listen to our body if something doesn’t feel right.”

The nurse asked people to seek medical help if they realize that something is no longer. Although it is unlikely that it is cancer, she advises that you are better safe than suffering.

And MacMillan emphasizes that support is available for all people who experience or experience cancer.

“We are here for everyone, from diagnosis to treatment, personally, online and about our free, confidential support line every day of the week on 0808 808 00,” they said.
