Billy Bodin said he always wanted to return to Swindon Town after he had joined the club that he had left 13 years ago.
The son of the Swindon legend Paul Bodin came in the city in the city and came through 16 senior appearances before he was sold by Paolo di Canio to Torquay United at the age of 20.

Since then he has made almost 400 appearances for a number of clubs and is regularly in the championship and the league -1.
Among these various clubs were the rival Oxford United and Bristol Rovers, but although he played for these clubs, his love for his youth club never let up.
In an interview with the club media, he said: “[How important is it to rekindle the bond with the supporters?] Solid.
“Obviously, some of the clubs are questionable on my résumé, and I know that many of the fans will give me a bit of stick. Even my own brother -in -law gave me a bit of stick for a few years.

“It is part of football, and during my career there were certain options that I couldn’t really give up.
“But Swindon was always a place to return and play.
“It is astonishing to be back, and when I went, it was always somewhere somewhere that I wanted to return to a certain stage of my career. Fortunately, when he spoke to the manager, it seems like the right fit.”

During this 13 years outside of Wiltshire, Bodin recorded three advertising campaigns, including regrettable with Rovers and Oxford.

Now he said he intended to help Swindon get out of the second division, as he did in the 2011/12 campaign.
He said: “I think I had four promotions during this time, together with many good seasons, but I also had some bad ones with injuries and didn’t play so much among certain managers.
“I have gained a lot of experience in all different aspects, and that made me a player that I am now.
“Hopefully we can achieve something good this season, and there is only one goal and that is promotion.
“I have a lot of experience and can help the young boys, but also bring creativity, and I would like to think of some goals.

“As long as I can help the team in any way, I can, if that goes towards advertising, it is okay for me.”
