Andrea Piardi takes over the second test between Australia Rugby and the British and Irish Lions.
Piardi was the first Italian to take over a line in the Six Nations when he supervised his first game last year.

The 32-year-old has been a familiar face in the areas of Touchlines as an assistant in recent years and traveled in autumn 2023 as the sole Italian representative in the official group in France.
Piardi was born in Brescia and made his debut in today’s Rugby Championship in 2019.
His quick climb continued with a appointment for the URC final between the Stormers and Munster in 2023.
Piardi, a graduate of mechanical engineering from his hometown of university, became relatively youngest a professional referee, but is highly regarded. It is supported by Ben O’keeffe and Nika Amashukeli, the referees for the first and third tests.
