Cruises have so much more than the med and the Caribbean – these goals prove it

We all know why the Mediterranean, Norwegian fjords, the Caribbean and the Canary Islands are happy to exceed the table of the British of the Cruise Lines International Association. No matter, the view of the sun (yes, even in the fjords), there are centuries of history, fabulous landscape, first -class cities, brilliant beaches … The list continues.

The countries that slrew the places at the end of the table are far more fascinating. Alaska, Asia, Australasia, Africa, South America, Canada, New England, Hawaii, even near Scandinavia; Between them they don’t even come close to the number that flows to the Canary Islands every year.

Nevertheless, they offer everything that loves cruise british about the places they dare and are not as expensive as you think. Here are nine goals that are probably not on the list of cruising hit list this year. The prices are for 2025, unless otherwise stated.

1. Seychelles

If you thought that this dreamy archipelago in the Indian Ocean was the Royals and celebrities keeper, think about it again.

Greek Line Variety Cruises has a small ship all year round from Mahe, which the bank does not break on board, a small ship that was made to bounce between the islands. Expect the sea, sun and bone white sand as well as close encounters with huge turtles, exotic birds and the chance to recognize the rare black parrot, which was only found on Praslin Island.

How it works

An Odyssee trip of 10 nights Seychelles Island costs from £ 3,274 pp, from October 22, 2025. Variety Cruises (020 8324 3117)

2. Hawaii

If you imagine the lava fields, lush rainforests, Pearl Harbor (the idyllic backdrop for the darkest hour of America) and for many days at sea, you are right. Almost. The Norwegian cruise line and uncruise have all funny things, but also from US ships (Biggish and small) that were occupied by Americans who can sail according to the US Maritime Act within Hawaii.

Translation? There are none of the days at sea when other lines from the US or Canadian west coast (10 out of 16 days with princess) get to the islands. There is still a long flight with which you can deal with -you have to fold yourself into a plane for about 20 hours -but at least there is a hula campaign.

How it works

A seventh day Hawaii: Inter-Island trip costs £ 1,560pp from December 6, 2025. Includes accommodation, meals in main cooking rooms and restaurants buffet as well as most of the activities for entertainment and board. (0333 241 2319)

3. Baltic

Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Estonia went to Clias’s ceremony, who likes to cross the British. But then Russia entered Ukraine and ships left the Baltic Pronto.

While some ships have now returned, the Baltic Sea without St. Petersburg (for obvious reasons) is like Hans without Gretel.

This is a shame, because there is so much to love at the region of Stockholm, Helsinki’s beautiful water promenade, Tallinn’s paved roads and conical, red-cut roofs or Copenhagen’s relaxed atmosphere. In addition, they are all on our doorstep.

How it works

A 10-day trip from Copenhagen to Stockholm with oceania cruises costs from £ 2,809, from July 10, 2026. (0345 505 1920)

4. Galapagos Islands

Let’s be honest: a cruise through the Galapagos Islands, about 1,000 km off the Ecuador coast, will never be cheap. But to be able to deal with birds, huge turtles, iguanas and other wild animals that are not afraid of people, is a unique opportunity to inject the money. Ships visit two islands a day and pack in many different wild animals during the time.

5. America’s large lakes

Make a Great Lakes cruise for Americans and you will be ‘Mackinac (extremely Mackinaw) Island’ Coo. Take it up with British and you will be hit with empty views – unless you are one of the few lucky ones that you have sailed.

Why don’t British visit Mackinac anymore? Because they do nothing about the spectacular backdrop, museums (yes, we think the entire story in Detroits Henry Ford Museum and Cleveland’s fun rock’n’roll Hall of Fame) and of course cute Mackinaw, where visitors are transported by horse carts. So far that is.

How it works

A 10-night-chicago trip to Toronto with Victory Cruise Lines costs from 5,799 USD (£ 4.299pp), which leave on May 10, 2026. Includes a pre-Kreuse hotel night, transfers, drinks, tours and Wi-Fi. (+1 855 556 7193)

6. Australia and New Zealand

The flights to New Zealand are long (it takes more than 24 hours to travel to Auckland) and expensive, but do not be locked. This luxurious pot with Silversea through the New Zealand’s North and South Islands (think of culture, sheep, Gannets and wine) ends in Melbourne, where you can escape the British winter by lingering a little longer.

There are iconic cities to see epic train trips, and more amazing cruises that can pack up. A month down is just not enough.

A 16-day Auckland to Melbourne with Silversea costs from £ 6,600 on December 16, 2025. (0844 251 0837)

7. Japan

With so many of its big cities on or near the coast, Japan was made a cruise. In just 11 days, passengers can tick up blockbusters such as Tokyo, Kyoto, Kochi, Hiroshima and Kagoshima, old temples, shrines and castles, smoke volcanoes and drive the famous bullet trains in the country.

For those who nerve nerves, the cultural and culinary differences of the country – no matter how to understand the lingo – there is no better visit than on a cruise. You can explore Guided Tours on land during the day and come home to a more familiar environment.

How it works

An 11-day Japan Explorer trip costs from £ 1.101pp on March 6, 2026. (0344 338 8663)

8. New England

Whether you think it’s too far to travel (it is not) or how the old one will be (it is not), British cruisers skip new England into their droves. Boy, miss them.

And not only when eating lobsters (which is such an obsession that there is even lobster ice in Bar Harbor), but also that it is connected to charming cities with the revolution that have a familiar ring. Boston, Bath, Gloucester, Portland, Plymouth, Newport … it’s as if they had never gone home.

9. South Africa

If you love wildlife, you cannot hit a cruise in South Africa. There are not only penguins, giraffes, hippos, elephants and of course the big five, but they can all recognize them on a sailing safari.

Instead of flying time or flying on road trips, she transports her floating hotel from the park to parking. If that’s not the reason enough to give British cruise visitors to Africa, how about the additional attractions of wine costs and seals Island (Nelson Mandela’s former prison near Cape Town)?

How it works

A 15-night cape city, Durban & Port Louis Cruise with Azamara costs from 2,969 pounds on December 20, 2025. (03444 934016)

10. Arab Golf

You would think that sunburn flocks to the Arabic Gulf in winter, as they offer guaranteed blue sky and warmth near home at home at a price that does not make you swallow. But no. The region goes at the end of the Cruise Lines International Association (Clia) and the British and the British lack everything from exciting 4×4-dünen-Jeep trips in the desert to Wildlife Safaris, Souks, Mosques, Go-Karting and a look behind the license plates in Abu Dhabis F1.

How it works

A sevenness desert days with Celestyal costs of £ 539 per person, which was removed by Doha on January 31, 2026. Includes refreshing drinks with meals and WiFi. (0808 258 4722)
