Vegan diet beats the Mediterranean diet when it comes to jumping weight loss, find scientists

A new study can help promote weight loss by promoting a vegan diet by reducing inflammation.

Scientists compared a plant-based diet with a so-called “Mediterranean diet”-a one that contains moderate amounts of fish, poultry, dairy products and eggs-and found that the removal of this overall led to a net reduction of acid production through the body.

Researchers in the four -month study published in the magazine Limits in nutrition, It was found that the changeover to a vegan diet with low -fat diet diet, the body’s overall acid, a change associated with weight loss.

“The food of acid-producing foods such as meat, eggs and dairy products can increase the acid load or the amount of acids consumed, which leads to a weight gain,” said Hana Kahleova, co-author of the study.

“Replacing animal products with food on a vegetable basis such as leafy vegetables, berries and legumes can help promote weight loss and create a healthy intestinal microbiome,” said Dr. Kahleova.

In the study, 62 overweight adults were randomized to follow either a Mediterranean or a vegan diet of a low -fat diet, which is separated by a four -week cleaning season, followed by another 16 weeks on the alternative diet.

The researchers monitored the nutritional records of the participants in order to calculate their acid load -a measure of the net acid production in the body from the food we eat.

For example, scientists say that foods such as meat, fish, eggs and cheese produce the body more acid, a change associated with chronic inflammation and this can lead to an increased body weight.

In comparison, they say that diets based on plant base are associated with weight loss and weight loss, improved insulin sensitivity and low blood pressure.

The researchers found that the acid exposure under a vegan diet significantly decreased without significantly a significant change in the Mediterranean diet.

According to scientists, this reduction is associated with significant weight loss, which remained even after the calorie intake was adapted.

Participants in the study had a weight loss by up to 5 kg (13 LBS) for vegan nutrition, compared to the Mediterranean diet.

Scientists recommend more consumption of alcoholization of food such as leafy vegetables, broccoli, beets, asparagus, garlic, carrots and cabbage as well as fruits such as berries, apples, cherries, apricots or cantaloupe.

Legumes such as lentils, chickpeas, peas, beans or soy and grain such as quinoa or millet can also have an alkalization effect, they say.

“The alkalizing effect of a vegan diet can be an independent mechanism through which a vegan diet promotes weight loss,” concluded the researchers.
