by Yogyakarta, Indonesia (AP) – A metallic spaceship glitters under ambient light, since two figures with elongated limbs, bulbous heads and sharp faces look into the distance of the island of Java.
The extraterrestrial arrival in Indonesia is one of the science fiction scenes that fascinated groups of outdoor lovers in the UFO festival in July.
Since 2016, the organizers have welcomed hundreds of fans of realities and secrets in space from Indonesia and beyond. The festival aims to create a creative and intellectual scabbard for enthusiasts of space science and exploration, unidentified aircraft, unidentified air phenomena and SETI, shortly after finding extraterrestrial intelligence.
This year’s free event included an alien village, a UFO village and a UFO camp in a place near Yogyakarta, about 420 kilometers from the Indonesian capital of Jakarta.
Visitors admired a replica of a Mars exploration module and galleries with artistic interpretations of space, while workshops for adults and students now offered cosmic activities such as the construction of spacesuites.
Venkha Christ, director of Indonesia Space Science Society, said a focus on the term UFO enables the participants to be surprised without limits.
“I think the Indonesian generation needs a platform that can change and socialize creative ideas, be it from the perspective of technology, science or even art,” said Christ. “Imagine the space to present, present the universe, imagines a borderlessness.”
