The function was started in the USA at the end of May at the end of May, followed by India in early July, and comes in addition to Google’s AI overview, which is now integrated into its search queries.

Hema Budaraju, the Vice President of Google for product management for the search, told the PA news agency that you approach a “big shift” in the way people use online search inquiries, whereby the questions are now becoming longer and more complex.

In a blog in which the start was announced, Ms. Budaraju said: “AI mode is a new, intuitive way to answer your most complex, multi-part questions and follow-ups and to satisfy your curiosity in a rich way.”

She added: “AI mode is particularly helpful for exploration questions and more complicated tasks such as comparing products, planning a trip or understanding complex how-toDs.

“In fact, we have found that early users of AI mode ask questions that are two or three times as high as with conventional search queries.”

The tool is operated by Google, Gemini 2.5, and enables users to ask nuanced questions that would have previously needed several search queries.

The new search is processed by broken down questions in subtopias and sent a number of queries on behalf of the user.

It also enables so -called multimodal searches, either according to text, language or images.

Ms. Budaraju said it should enable people to “find information that has so far been much more difficult to find”.

“This is the beginning of a great shift,” she said to Pa.

Google said that it improves the fact, but that the AI mode in the answer is not sure that it provides a number of web search results instead.

“And as with every AI product in early stages, we won’t always do it right, but we commit ourselves to a continuous improvement,” said Ms. Budaraju.
