Chaos of the Royal Opera House as an actor of the Palestinian flag on stage

An actor triggered a controversy in the Royal Opera House after developing a Palestinian flag on the stage during the curtain call on Saturday evening.

The protest occurred during a performance by IL Trovatore, whereby the employees tried to remove the flag from the actor. Witnesses said the actor had resisted and refused to let go.

One audience said to the Telegraph: “In the Royal Opera House, a Palestinian flag developed in the encore of the line -up.

“Someone from the opera house/company then came from the wings onto the stage to try to remove the flag from the actor who ranked them back and refused to give them up during IL Trovatore.”

On X you commented on: another on X On Saturday added: “Exceptional scenes in the Royal Opera Housten tonight.

“During the curtain for IL Trovatore, one of the background artists came onto the stage with a Palestine flag. Just stood there, no arc or screaming. Someone from the stage tried to take it from him again and again. Incredible.”

The Opera-Goer Stephen Ratcliffe wrote about X:

IL Trovatore directed by Adele Thomas is a reinterpretation of Verdi’s classic, the topics of the desire and a devastating curse. Production runs for two and a half hours.

The Royal Opera House was contacted for a comment.
