Barry, who flew together with Ms. Margaret and Lexie, Arthur’s girlfriend, to the American capital, attracted the famous Cherry & White jersey in the 1980s before watching the same activities four decades later.

Arthur started playing football in the West Country before turning towards Oval Ball one day and has never looked back since.

The imposing castle gave its early craft in Stow-on-the-World RFC before being closed to the Kingsholm Academy and quickly went into the ranks.

Clark has suffered a difficult year with injuries, but says that his closer and dear present part of Audi Field is worth it.

“I started playing football – I loved everything as a child,” he said.

“Papa wanted me to play rugby and nudge myself from time to time.

“He had many buddies there with their children, who kept saying:” When will Arthur come? “

“He kept saying that I wanted to play football – but one day I came off the field and said I wanted to play rugby.

“For me, Stow-on-the-World was massive and a great inspiration for starting the Gloucester’s Academy and tried to play my father’s footsteps.

“My debut in Gloucester was so special – he was wearing the shirt and I am wearing it now.

“Mom, dad and my girlfriend who make the trip out is really something special.

“Not having you here would be difficult, so I’m glad you got out to share the moment with me.

“You helped me so much and gave me so much – so it’s amazing to have you here. It means you as much as I do.”

Clark is one of three debutants in the last leg of England’s Transatlantic Tour. The full -back from Bath Center Max Ojomoh and Sale Sharks, Joe Carpenter, also begins.

The trio found that on Wednesday morning at a team meeting in the famous Watergate Hotel of Washington DC, they played under American red-American conditions before a strenuous training session.

Clark informed his family on the first opportunity before mom, dad and girlfriend had the hectic leap through the pond to play and catch England’s final training session last morning.

“I called her in the evening and they were really happy – it was definitely a nice call.

“It is the highlight of my career – it is something you are looking for and are constantly in your head.

“This is the final goal – to make your debut for your country.

“This is my first type of exposure in the first team – you learn small parts and floors and learn Steve, Charlie Ewels, one of the more experienced forwards.

“There is so much when you pick up things that you can bring back to your club – it’s great.

“They have ties to people while playing against them – bonds were built quickly and learning began.

“They jump off me and I jumped off them – it has become a really tight group and it is amazing how much fun this tour was from the square. It was incredible.”
