Kristin Kone felt enthusiastic after Italy had Wales 28-24 to round off his summer series in 2025 Six Nations Wheh the Women’s Summers with an exciting victory.

Hooker Chiara Cheli produced an outstanding performance in the second half, a hat trick, which included the match winner attempt to take the lead four times in Caerphilly.

It was a game that no team had to lose, but ultimately Italy made it certain that they were on the right side of the result, even though Wales achieved four attempts.

It is a gratifying turnaround for Italy who lost 46: 5 in her opening game against France before he fell to England on match day after he had led this match 15-0 at half time.

And the Kone eye button was full of praise for her team’s determination during her last fight with the hosts of the competition.

She said: “We feel pretty great right now. It was a hard game, but we believed in our team until the last minute. We are quite proud of what we have had throughout this experience.”

Italy’s physical skills were their strength in the summer series of women and Cheli was able to achieve all their attempts from close to the back of the good work by their fellow strikers.

But Kone admitted that Wales did not make her side easy.

“It was a very hard game when Wales played pretty well, but we are very excited and satisfied with the result,” she continued.

“Absolutely [it was a physical game]. The Wales players are really tough, quite big, but our defense was pretty thick and we continued to drive. I am very proud of my teammates. “

This was the second incarnation of the summer series for women, a tournament with which U20S players should give the opportunity to play more competitive rugby to help with their development.

She added: “Absolutely [this gives us confidence going forward]. We have grown a lot from this match. We started [the tournament] We put a long way against France and then the English and we enjoyed it. “
