The NHS has launched a unique, open, everyday psychiatric unity for patients in crises.
The new center offers patients with serious mental illnesses around the clock.
The first of six new “neighborhood centers for mental health” was opened this week in Tower Hamlets, East London, with the rest of which was opened later this year in other areas.
The NHS said that the “One-stop shop” would bring together a number of psychiatric services from the community under one roof, including crisis services, psychiatric services of the community and short-term beds.
The centers will work as good as an unit of A&E, but with a focus on mental health and without the lengthy delays that are often exposed to the crisis.
Last year, 250,000 people went to mental health due to a problem, but one of three hours had to wait more than 12 hours. A patient waited 18 days that a bed was available.
People with a serious mental illness such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder can be received without an appointment if they need mental health and advice on employment, living space or volunteer work.
Other patients can book appointments or receive recommendations to participate with specialists and speak to specialists.
The new services are staffed by psychiatrists, therapists and other mental health experts as well as by employees for charity organizations, volunteers and people who have even experienced serious mental illnesses.
Claire Murdoch, nationally mental health director at NHS England, said the services would mean that “people can access the entire support they need in one place without having to book in advance”.
She said: “We know that it can be discouraging for people with serious psychological health problems, and people can be overwhelmed by the various teams with whom they come into contact.
“NHS employees will be available around the clock to offer help because the health service in the 10-year health plan offers more support for the community.
“I would encourage everyone who has to deal with their mental health to either contact his GP NHS 111 or to visit their local neighborhood center.”
After Wes Streeting, the health secretary set the 10-year health plan at the beginning of this month and demonstrated ambitions to bring nursing from hospitals to the community.
The NHS said that the initiative was part of a more comprehensive approach to improve mental health care and the introduction of psychiatric teams around the clock in all A&E, a helpline for mental health in mental health in all of England and committed emergency departments for mental health.
The other 24/7 mental health centers will be based in Whitehaven in Cumbria, Acomb in York, east of Birmingham, Heeley in Sheffield and Lewisham in London.
The NHS has ordered all local health service providers to check the care they provide for the serious mental illnesses, and instructions for instructions not only to be fired patients for the lack of an appointment.
After the paranoid schizophrenic Valdo-Calocan, the Nottingham murderer, who had fatally stabbed Barnaby Webber, Grace O’malley-Kumar and Ian Coates in 2023, was released by the NHS after he had not been involved with his care.
Cassandra Geisel from Rethink Mental illness and leading for the tower Hamlets Mental Health Alliance, timely access to care, can be “the difference between recovery and crisis for people who live with serious mental illnesses”.
She said: “What people tell us and what evidence shows is that the most effective support is, a circulation: care not only for clinical care and treatment, but also to support living space, employment and building social connections.”
These factors can be efficient to prevent relapses and support recovery, but if it is absent, the mental health of a person can deteriorate considerably. “
Lorraine Sunduza, managing director of the East London NHS Foundation Trust, said that she was proud that you would provide the first pilot location in the neighborhood in order to be fully functional.
She said: “The Mental Health Center of the Barnsley Street Neighborhood offers people in Betnal Green, if you need it, a mental health care and bring NHS care closer to home.”
