The GB team of GB, led by head coach Theo Nousios, who also acts as head coach for Com, is acted against France, South Africa and Spain last week.
“This group of athletes trained incredibly hard,” said Nousios. “Our main goal is to proudly learn, grow and represent Britain. Showing the commitment of these women – elite sports with careers and studies are almost inspiring.”
In contrast to many of their international opponents, who are full-time professional athletes, the GB squad largely consists of players who train in addition to demanding day jobs.
The World Championships are not only a prestigious event, but also a crucial springboard for the Olympic qualification. Strong achievements in Singapore could significantly influence the chances of GB to secure a place at the Olympic Games in La 2028.
