The 10 best museums in Amsterdam

For a small country, the Netherlands has a great influence on world art, both in the 17th century, then again with straight lines and brave basic colors in the 20th – and van Gogh slipped on the way. So the three big museums – old masters, van Gogh and modern art – are the way. But Amsterdam is also a treasure chest with other attractions, from a quirky collection of mechanical piano to channel -sided villas that drop with chandeliers and shine with silver, right up to border burst photography and an urban explosion of street art and graffiti.

All of our following recommendations for museum were selected and tested by our resident target expert. You can find more information below or for further inspiration in our leaders on the best hotels, restaurants, shops, bars and cafés, attractions and free activities.
