A technical problem seems to prevent Virgin Media customers from observing Sky Sports as usual.

On Monday morning, Virgin Media customers complained that their registration not seemed to work in the app so that users can watch live sport. Some stated to see an error message that indicates that the “systems currently do not exist for maintenance”.

In the middle of a busy time for reporting on sports, including the busy and exciting last day of England test game against India.

“Our fixed and mobile networks work as usual today. However, we are aware that a small number of customers have problems accessing some apps,” said a spokesman for Virgin Media O2. “Our technical teams are working on restoring the services as soon as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

Several reports indicate that Virgin Media’s internet connections had broken. However, the problem seemed more specific and only affected the Sky Sports app.

Looking at Sky Sports through a TV connection also seems to work as normal. However, the problem came in the middle of a weekday when many users may try to switch on the cricket from their phones or laptops.

“The biggest cricket day of the year and I can’t access Sky Cricket,” wrote a affected customer on X, who was previously known as Twitter.
