Chelsea trainer Enzo Maresca insisted that winning the World Cup means so much to win the Champions League after his team had 3-0 in the final of the first edition of FIFA’s new competition on Sunday.
“I have the feeling that this competition will be just as important, if not more important than the Champions League,” said Maresca, after winning the title of UEFA Conference League in his team in May.

Maresca only took over in Chelsea a year ago, but was previously in the coaching team under Pep Guardiola in Manchester City when they won the Champions League in 2023.
“I was lucky enough to be a team’s coaching team that won the Champions League a few years ago, but this competition offers the best teams in the world and I think we can appreciate it at the same level,” said the Italian.
“It is a great triumph for us and the Chelsea fans will have it on our shirt for the next four years, so it’s a source of pride.”
Maresca said he had to bring his players to PSG from the off -road game – they scored all three goals in the first half, with Cole Palmer scored before Joao Pedro added his name to the goal ship.

“The message was to let her understand that we were here to win the game, and I think we showed them that in the first 10 minutes,” said Maresca.
“That gave the tone of the game and then the quality of the players was also important.”
England International Palmer was appointed player of the game after sunk and achieving Joao Pedro’s goal.
The 23-year-old therefore lived his superstar-brilling face on advertising boards in New York and advertised the tournament together with the people like the Real Madrid Duo Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.
“Scaning the goals was a great feeling, just like the team the fire out there – the game plan of the Gaffer was just right,” he said.

“I’m just trying to do my job every time I go on the pitch and hopefully I’ll go on.
“I saw the advertising boards in Times Square and outside the Madison Square Garden and it is obviously a nice feeling to be next to these players,” he added.
