Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique asked his team on Friday to round off the best season in the history of the club with the winning of the World Cup, but not to expect that the final on Sunday against Chelsea will be a “simple formality”.
“This will not be an easy formality,” insisted the Spanish coach and refused to accept that, despite its fearsome form, PSG are necessarily overwhelming favorites to raise the trophy in the Metlife stage.

“I analyzed Chelsea. You have a great squad. Enzo Maresca does a great job and I really like what he is doing,” said Luis Enrique. “You are a very full team.”
PSG can complete a remarkable clean trophy with the victory after winning a French league and a cup double for the first time in its history before claiming the UEFA Champions League.
“We want to end this historical season in the best possible way,” said Barcelona’s former coach.
“Now we have to open the next chapter, win more large trophies. We want to do more history by winning on Sunday.”

PSG was temporarily in her 4-0 win against Real Madrid in the semi-finals and also scored four goals to Atletico Madrid and Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami during the competition.
“But we have to win this game to round off things. However, there is always a winner and a loser in the final, and that does not mean that the loser has necessarily done something wrong,” added Luis Enrique.
“We will lose again at some point, because that happens in football at the highest level, but I think the way is clear to everyone.”
This is the first edition of the 32-team club world championship, and whoever wins on Sunday will be world champion for four years. The next tournament will take place in 2029.

“We are aware of the importance of this game that it is a golden opportunity to be in a World Cup final,” said captain Marquinhos.
“This only happens every four years and we do not know where we will be in four years.”
