by Astronomers have asked for help to identify a mystery object that hit Saturn in the first recorded instance of a room object on Saturday that falls against the gas giant.
Studies indicate that large objects hit a Saturn on average every 3,125 years over a kilometer.
Although data occurs on the planet every year, none of astronomers have been discovered on the plot.
Compared to rocky planets, on which cosmic collisions have an impact, gas giants such as Jupiter and Saturn do not show such signs.
But a new picture that was taken by a NASA employee and amateur astronomer Mario Rana seems to show a space object that crashes for the first time.
Since gas giants made of hydrogen and helium have from outer layers, strikes can quickly hide through asteroids or comets.
Ms. Rana is part of the recognition project that analyzes pictures of Jupiter and Saturn using computer software. Videos that the astronomer recorded from Saturn last Saturday show a weak shine on the left side of the film material, which seems to be like an impact event.
The planetary virtual observatory and laboratory or PVOL, a consortium of professional and amateur astronomers, called for experts in the field to confirm or refute the potential effects on the Saturn.
“Marc Delcroix reports a potential influence on the Saturn, which was recorded in some frames in a video observation preserved by Mario Rana. The potential effects would be very weak and are unconfirmed,” said Pvol in an explanation.
“The very short impact flash performed on July 5, 2025 between 9 a.m. and 9.15 a.m.
PVOL has asked astronomers who may also have recorded observations from this point on to contact Mr. Delcroix via e -Mail (Delcroix.marc@free.fr) and submit their data.
Leigh n Fletcher, professor of planetary science at the University of Leicester, also asked amateur world -spa observers to share potential videos that they may have on the effects.

“Videos of amateur observers at this time could contain the key.”
