One of seven people lost money for fraud last year “

One of seven people says that according to a survey, they have lost money for fraud last year.

The Financial Insights Company Transunion stated that around 14% of the people surveyed in February stated that they had lost money against fraud in the past 12 months.

Half (50%) said that an attempt to fraud had been attempted to fraud in the past three months.

The “Consumer Pulse” survey also showed that a significant part of the people favors the security processes for account safety compared to simple access. Over three quarters (78%) explains that they do not want access to their accounts without being explicitly authenticated.

Almost half (49%) of the people stated that it does not matter to be authenticated again after a first registration, for example when paying or changing a password.

Chad Reimers, General Manager of Fraud and Identity at Transunion in Great Britain, said: “Fast and seamless trips have become a norm.

“However, consumers are increasingly demanding trust in their interactions with digital channels.

“There are increasing requirements of consumers, security and authentication – and this includes sectors, from financial services to games to online dating.”

Transunion commissioned Dynata with the implementation of the survey of under 1,000 people aged 18 years over the UK.

People who are concerned that they may have been victims of fraud should be communicated to their banking or payment providers as soon as possible.

“This can help the provider clinging the money and could also help prevent further attempts to fraud in the account.

Many banks have registered for the 159 service – an unforgettable number that people can call when they have received contact that they suspect to be fraudulent.

People can also check their creditus for all activities that can indicate fraud.
