Two more aces followed a 6-2 7-5 6: 4 victory in just more than 18 hours in just over 18 hours after the game started.
“I thought it was a great match,” the 22-year-old smiled. “Many thanks to everyone who stayed late and came back.
“I was hoping to hit a few basic strokes, so I may have to return to the practice.
“I missed a first surcharge, some things that I was upset about for the next round and improved.”
Shelton later revealed that the referee informed him that the match had to be suspended because the electronic line call would stop working because it became darker.

“He said it was a five-minute warning until the Hawk eye went down,” said Shelton.
“This included the changeover, so that there is not enough time to complete the game.
“I told him only 60 seconds. That was my goal when I went out there today.”
Shelton meets Hungarian Marton Fucsovics in the third round.
