Skin bleeding and shaped Böber are no longer equipped. Involved tops and longer locks are in fashion falcons, the movement in the direction of longer hair is hardly any news, but it may not be fashion that drives the shift. Rising costs and tightened belts are among the reasons why some believe that they stand behind the trend for longer hair.
The average costs of a haircut for men and women in Great Britain have increased by more than 30% since 2020. As a result, many of us have adapted our hairstyles.
“We still have a lifestyle crisis,” said Phil Smith. “Most people have problems. Everything that gives their hair a bit longer life will remain fashionable.”
For Smith, the owner of the Salon Smith England in Salisbury, which is aimed at men and women, the step towards longer styles has taken place. “It was catastrophic,” he said. “People don’t come in that often.”
The most common shift he has seen in men is a removal of skin adjustments, where hair is cut firmly on the sides and created for a faded look – a style that requires regular maintenance.
Instead, people have chosen Tafer Fades, which give a similar mixed look, but keep more length on the upper sides and top.
“Short hair dies and longer hairstyles are fashionable again,” he said. “If the rejuvenation of the rejuvenation is done correctly, it takes a little longer. The skin circulation takes two weeks and you have to do it again. If the rejuvenation grows out, it looks a little cooler and more chaotic.”
Sea bastards are also in fashion again, but Smith is careful that those who have demand are careful. “If it was badly cut, it is only a relapse against Chris Waddle.”
The collision of living costs with the salon is most important by women who traditionally paid more for their hair styling than men. Smith also said here that costed fashion trends were influenced.
Treatment that has undergone the greatest change is hair color. Colored roots that have to be talked every 10 to 12 weeks have no longer failed. Balayage, where color is applied directly to the hair, is all the anger. This treatment only requires a bi-year visit to the salon.
“It looks like sun -drenched ends, beautiful hair that is raised by the sunshine,” he said.
In his own shop, Smith said that he had to increase his prices by around 15 to 20%, since the rising costs, including the latest increase in national insurance and the inflation of salon products, were difficult to do.
“I’ve been doing this for 41 years and that is far the most difficult that I have ever seen. The recession and the banking crisis from 2008 were a walk in the park compared to the now things,” he said.
Bobby Gordon, the owner of the men’s hairdresser, who has branches in London and Kent, challenged the climate in a similar way.
“There is a limit for what people will pay for certain things,” he said. “It is just as much with a haircut. I think the work has been discounted for a long time and we play catch up.”
“For a long time, people only assumed that a men’s haircut was a tenner. But the quality of the work that makes barber is now much better.”
He said the skin faded and shorter styles in general were on the way to the outside. “Hair could not get shorter if we didn’t start to take off the scalp of the people,” he said.
He was forced to increase his prices due to increasing costs, but time is also a factor.
“Customers are more demanding, they know what they are looking for. They do not bring a picture of a footballer like a long time ago. They have seen things on Instagram and the cuts that people need for a long time are long.
With longer styles that are increasingly popular, Fella has introduced an option “back and sides” to lend those who do not want to pay the full fully for a rectification.
“It was very popular,” he said. “We had the feeling that people with the styles do not necessarily want a full haircut and the back and sides represent the problem areas.”

Richard Scorer, the creative director of the Harington women’s salon chain, said that people have “higher value services less often”. He saw a similar increase in demand for Balayage treatments.
“Time is a big problem for people. In the past came in every week and have a hair dryer. Now they come in less regularly, so they want to take services,” he said.
Goalscorer said that his salons, which are in Thames Valley, are located at the “upper end of the market” for the area. Nevertheless, he saw new customers who expected to improve their treatments, especially since prices have risen in less beluxurious hairdressers.
“People now want experiences to have a haircut here is a nice experience,” he said. “Pay attention to false economies. If you come to a salon like ours, the initial price could be more, but we do fray cladding free of charge for three months.”
fading For those who still want a bit tight in their cut, the Tafer Fade offers a good balance between short on the sides, while the volumization length maintains above. Because it stays in the direction of the mixed top of the head for longer, it still keeps a good shape when growing, which means less frequent visits to the hairdresser.
Mod Cut This longer, textured equipment gives your mop a certain flexibility. You can leave it soft and neglected and still look fresh or apply a product for a defined look. The edge also gives you some hair for playing that can be slightly separated or on the left on your forehead. This cut can be carried out every four to six weeks.
Progress This layered, textured cut gives its long, lush locks some jump and makes their facial functions into pop. It is about cutting shorter layers at the front and longer layers of the back, which grows more evenly. It is a particularly good style if you want to add a long, flowing hair some shape, volume and jump.
Square historic haircut This box -shaped cut, in which layers are cut to the head shape at an angle of 90 degrees, gives your hair a decent but bouncy look. As with the forward finish, the layered cuts will get out more evenly and is quite maintenance -free.
